The Local Bean

Coffee plays a role major role for many of us.   For some, it's an encouragement to get going in the morning.  For others, it's a life-style, like a wine connoisseur.

My local coffeehouse {the only one in town} buys their beans straight from the farms in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and locally.  The owner makes sure she is buying the highest quality and even follows the climate and weather patters of the particular area in order to get the best bean possible.

My original idea for walking the bean {back in 2006} was going to be a blog about coffee.  These local beans were grown and harvested right here in the Houston area.  This particular brew is a Texas French Roast {sounds like a war between the states} this is one of the darker roasts. Do you have a favorite coffee?

I wondered why your blog was called "walking the bean." Now, I know. The coffeehouse in your town sounds like a good one with the owner buying the highest quality of beans. The coffee in your cup looks like a rich blend. I prefer a not so strong cup of coffee, but your post got my attention immediately, as I am a real coffee lover. And those shoes are so cool.

I'm so sorry to hear that about your cat. I like the name Macy, and I bet she was a beloved cat. Pets become part of our family and are dear to us. ~Sheri

Chris, I don't drink coffee very often, but I put it in everything chocolate that I make. A few weeks ago I posted my cold-brew coffee concentrate that I like to make when coffee drinkers might be stopping in or when I'm going to be making chocolate recipes. So sorry about your cat; we love cats and know what a terrible loss that is.
